Remember the story about an 80 year old scrap collector who bought a diamond ring for his wife after a lifetime of struggle?
“We’ve been leading a hard life. I just hope to cheer her up,” he told the staff at the jewellery store.

I remember my face was filled with tears when I first read this story few years back when it was all over social media, it melted all of our hearts. This romantic old man may have fulfilled his act of true love to his wife on his own, but PRECIOUS Manager - East Chin on the other hand, has something in mind that she wish she could do for the people of our local community who deserves more. Just like this story about this woman turning unwanted flowers from wedding to comfort hospice patients, but different.

So what does East Chin has in mind? Read along...
Love is priceless, but not weddings.
This once in a life time celebration don't come cheap these days. Like many of us, we save up part of our monthly salaries and bonuses, make smart investments, starting own businesses to prepare of ourselves for the day we decide to start a family. Also, like many others, with inevitable circumstances, probably works a non-executive job, or have substantial family responsibilities to care for, those who lived too modest, and those who live in the brink of “just enough”. They have love, but they didn't have the luxury of choice.
East Chin – our PRECIOUS Manager, told us one day that she decided that she want to carry out a personal sponsorship project – which is to sponsor 10 couples out from her own pocket, to those who couldn’t afford bridal photo shoot. To our surprise, we asked her what had triggered her to this unexpected generosity. East told us…
“It was the time when I was planning my own wedding, thinking what I should do to make it perfect. Then I looked out my car window I saw a family - a father, mother and two children on a motorcycle. That moment of epiphany when the sight of a family of four struggling on a motorcycle made me realized not everyone is living a comfortable life. I have fellow friends from the industry who sponsored wedding services and helped me for my wedding day, I have most of the things sorted out for me. But when I see this family, I realize not everyone is as lucky. With God’s call, I made a decision that I would do something good for other people. I decide that I would sponsor 10 couples who couldn’t afford or have never taken bridal studio shoot, and give them this memory that they thought they never would have. Since I have been blessed with so many gifts on my wedding, I want to give back to those who need.”
“I am hoping to sponsor those who are really in need. Low income group, those who probably never taken any bridal photos, probably doesn’t own a smart phone or a car? I wish to hear their story.”
“I wish I can do more of this, and get more ideas on how I can make more people’s fairy tale dreams come true, within my capabilities and the advantage to my profession, of course. Being the management of Precious gives me the ability to maximize what I can give to these couples. And the acceptance was overwhelming when I share with the couples and friends what I want to do for them. It takes two good hands to clap for a great deed, isn’t it? Plus, many of my good friends from the industry offered their support towards this project too. Precious gives me the freedom and flexibility in choosing the crew and the assistance that I need.”
“I wish to reach out to people who could help me achieve this project, the people who personally knows these couples, I wish they could connect me to them. It would be such a great help to make this project come true for them, and me.”
We’ve got the first couple who received this sponsorship. Firdaus + Anis : The first MAKING HAPPY WED PROJECT COUPLE . Read story here.
